  6. This file (READ_1ST.TXT) is a part of a self-extracting archive called PSCBJFIX.EXE. In addition to the

  22. This software patch was developed by Logitech to correct compatibility issues between the Logitech PageScan Color
  23. scanner, or the Logitech PageScan Color Pro scanner, and the following Canon printers running under Windows 95:

  26. BJC620

  28. For issues with any other Canon printers, please refer to the Customer Support Documents available from the
  29. Logitech On-line Services for assistance or contact Customer Support.

  31. This patch will only correct issues where the printer does not function with the scanner enabled. It will not correct any
  32. other issues. Currently, there is no patch available for Windows 3.1x, although it is being investigated.

  35. 2. INSTALLATION
  36.  
  37. For purposes of these examples, we will assume the floppy drive is the "A:" drive. If this is your "B:" drive, please
  38. substitue "B:" for "A:" throughout the instructions below.
  39.  
  40. These examples also assume that Windows has been installed into the directory C:\WINDOWS. If Windows has
  41. been installed into a directory other than C:\WINDOWS, please substitute that directory for C:\WINDOWS in all of
  42. the instructions below. For example, if the step is to "Type CD\WINDOWS\TWAIN and press [ENTER]", but
  43. Windows is 
  44. installed in the C:\WIN95 directory, please type "CD\WIN95\TWAIN" instead.

  46. If you are not certain of the directory Windows is installed in, you can find out by clicking on "Start", "Find", "Files or
  47. Folders". Type in "WIN.COM" and press [ENTER]. When the listing of files found comes up, look at the column
  48. titled "In Folder". This will show you where Windows is installed. However, if multiple files are listed, you will need to
  49. determine which folder is the directory Windows is installed.

  52. 2.1 PageScan Color Pro
  53.  
  54. All versions of PageScan Color Pro software are compatible with this patch.
  55.  
  56. To install the patch, please do the following:
  57.  
  58. - Click on "Start," "Find," "Files or Folders"
  59. - Type "PSCBJFIX.EXE" and press [ENTER]
  60. - Doubleclick the PSCBJFIX icon in the listing of files found. A dialog box will open asking you if you want the file to
  61. be extracted to "C:\LOGITEMP" Click "UNZIP" to continue.
  62. - Click on "Start," "Shut Down," "Restart the computer in MS-DOS mode".
  63. - Type "COPY C:\LOGITEMP\LOGISCAN.VXD C:\WINDOWS\TWAIN_32\LGTWAIN" and press [ENTER].
  64. - The computer will ask if you wish to overwrite the existing file. Press "Y" to continue.
  65. - Once the file has been copied, turn off the computer.
  66. - When the computer is off, turn off the printer as well.
  67. - Now, restart the system normally.

  70. 2.2 PageScan Color
  71.  
  72. !!!!! IMPORTANT !!!!! 
  73.  
  74. This patch requires PageScan Color software version 1.4 or higher. It will not function with earlier versions of the
  75. PageScan Color software. 
  76.  
  77. To install the patch, please do the following:
  78.  
  79. - Click on "Start," "Find," "Files or Folders"
  80. - Type "PSCBJFIX.EXE" and press [ENTER]
  81. - Doubleclick the PSCBJFIX icon in the listing of files found. A dialog box will open asking you if you want the file to
  82. be extracted to "C:\LOGITEMP". Click "UNZIP" to continue.
  83. - Click on "Start," "Shut Down," "Restart the computer in MS-DOS mode".
  84. - Type "COPY C:\LOGITEMP\LOGISCAN.VXD C:\WINDOWS\TWAIN\PAGESCAN"and press [ENTER].
